    Dear SIG colleagues,

We hope the new academic year is going well so far!

There has been quite a lot going on both within ARMA and within the SIG over the past few months! Just in case you missed any of it, we thought it would be useful to summarise everything, and give you an update on things moving forward.

    ARMA
First and foremost, September saw the launch of the new website. In order to access most of the new resources, you will have been invited to reactivate your membership, in order to access your dashboard, update your profile and starting to connect with ARMA colleagues. If you have done so, we hope you are enjoying having a play, and familiarising yourself with the new features!

Once you are logged in, click on ‘network’, then ‘Special Interest Groups’; then the Ethics, Governance and Best Practice ‘SIG Discussion Group’. Here you will be able to share best practice, any information you feel would be useful to the SIG, and obtain feedback from fellow members of the SIG. If you click on the ‘subscribe’ link at the top of the SIG group page, you will receive a notification of new questions that have been added to the discussion group. The JISC mail-list for this group is still active, however the new discussion page will keep all the information posted, and all the responses related to it in one page, which is really useful instead of having to search through your emails! We would really welcome feedback on how SIG members would like to use the different communication formats now available to us.

If you have any questions about the above, please do let us know.

    INORMS 2018
Registration for INORMS 2018 is now open! The conference will welcome over 1000 delegates from ARMA’s sister organisations that altogether comprise INORMS.

The conference will be an excellent opportunity for members to network with likeminded national and international professionals across the sector. Alongside the numerous workshops, sessions with keynote speakers and poster displays, ARMA are currently developing an exciting social programme that will enable guests to experience and absorb the vibrant atmosphere and culture of Edinburgh.

We will also plan to present a session around ethics, governance and best practice, and would welcome any suggestions you have that would fit alongside the conferences theme of ‘Promoting Global research Management and Supporting Global Research Challenges’.

    Keep in touch
The SIG has been really active over the past couple of months, which is great! As part of this, we would really like to hear your thoughts about any workshops or networking events you would find useful. We really value all feedback or thoughts you have.

    With warm regards,

    Alison, Milly and Mitch
