    Dear colleagues,

    Preparations for the ARMA Conference 2019 are underway. The theme is ‘New Horizons: Prosperity and Resilience in Research Management’.

    I have been invited to host a session for SIG members and would like to gather your opinions on what topics and formats you would find most appealing.

    Presentation type
    Presentation formats for the conference include:
    • Interactive workshops;
    • PechaKucha Presentations;
    • Panel discussions;
    • Posters.

    More information about these presentations can be found on the conference website via this link http://www.armaconference.com/abstracts/.

    Themes
    There are 6 themes this year:
    1. Policy and Strategy;
    2. Funding and development;
    3. Project and portfolio Management;
    4. Culture, environment and people;
    5. Impact and public engagement;
    6. Governance.

    Further information on the conference themes can be found here http://www.armaconference.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/ARMA-Conference-Strands-Descriptions.pdf

    Presentation ideas
    Some ideas so far are:
    • GDPR compliance with legislation in medical and health research; how to ensure and monitor compliance in home and external organisations from a medical and health research perspective;
    • Workshop – how to engage medical organisations and industry, and promote collaborative working;
    • Good sponsorship within HEI’s;
    • Ensuring and promoting compliance for ethics and research governance in medical and health research in non NHS organisations.

    I want to make this session as relevant and engaging for you as possible, it would be great to have your feedback and any ideas you for you what you would find useful. Please can you send me any ideas by the close of play on the 19th December 2018.

    Thanks in advance for your help with this, and I’m looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

    Best wishes,

    Alison
