Introduction to UKRN

Event Details

This session will introduce participants to the UK Reproducibility Network, its purpose, communities, and activities.  UKRN is a national peer-led consortium that aims to ensure the UK retains its place as a centre for world-leading research. We do this by investigating the factors that contribute to robust research, promoting training activities, and disseminating best practice. We also work collaboratively with various external stakeholders to ensure coordination of efforts across the sector.  The session will also outline the main planks of the UKRN Open Research Programme, a five-year £8m investment by Research England and UKRN institutions in accelerating the take-up of open research through training, and through developing and sharing institutional policy and practice.

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss how this work may benefit their institutions (whether or not they are part of UKRN), the role of research managers and other professional services staff in open research, and the related opportunities to improve recognition and reward arrangements.
