This live interactive webinar is for those who are new to supporting research proposals and wish to develop their skills and knowledge in supporting academics in the research proposal process. We recommend this is most beneficial for those who are less than twelve months into their role.  The session will focus on the role of the administrator in supporting quality research proposals and developing an enhanced understanding of the research funding environment.

There will be a useful mixture of presentations and exercises/discussions, individually and in small groups, with the opportunity for attendees to network with colleagues from other organisations.  There is a small amount of pre-work required to ensure the attendees have time to focus on group exercises and discussions during the session. 

By the end of the webinar participants will:

• Have a clearer understanding of the role of research administrators when dealing with research proposals and quality assurance
• Have reviewed processes associated with grant submission
• Have considered best practice on reviewing research proposals
• Have a better understanding of current issues in research support relating to research funding. 

Target Audience

Designed for new research administrators and departmental/faculty administrators who are involved in the preparation of research proposals, preferably with not more than one year’s experience. For individuals with greater experience of supporting proposals, we recommend alternative ARMA sessions including Raising the Quality of Research Proposals or Research Development: Building relationships, increasing our influence.
