Louise gained her degree and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol. She then trained and qualified as a Clinical Scientist working for around 7 years in the NHS in the discipline of molecular genetics. She then moved into Higher Education management and administration and has held a number of predominantly research focused positions in the School of Life Sciences, a research intensive department, at the University of Dundee since 2014. She was seconded to Research England as part of the REF 2021 panel secretariat supporting sub-panels 16 and 22 in Main Panel C. She recently took up the position of School Manager, is a member of the School’s Executive Group, and leads the School’s professional service teams (around 250-280 staff) with responsibility across all School-led business functions.
