Event Details

Date: 21 September 2023, 10:30 – 12:30
Closing date for expressions of interest: 12pm on 31 August 2023.

This virtual study tour is aimed at members of ARMA who would like to know more about the Academy’s grants, programmes, and policy work. The event will introduce the work the Academy does in the clinical and non-clinical space and provide an opportunity for attendees to virtually meet Academy staff and ask questions.

Please note: We will aim to allow as many ARMA members to attend as possible. Please indicate your first and second choice of breakout sessions, as we may be unable to accommodate everyone’s first choice. We will confirm attendance and your breakout session during the week of the 4th September.

Programme:
10:30 – 11:00 – Introduction to Academy
11:00 – 11:05 – Break and move into break out groups
11:05 – 12:00 – Breakout groups with Q&A
12:00 – 12:15 – Wrap up and close
12:15 – 12:30 – Academy staff available for any further questions

Breakout sessions:
Grants: Will provide an overview of our portfolio of grant schemes and the life-cycle of a grant from the eligibility checking, through to its consideration and post-award management. There will also be time to reflect on the partnership between Research Offices and the Academy and how this can optimised.

Programmes: Will provide an overview of our portfolio of programmes, including programme aims, target audiences and impacts so far. There will be an opportunity to share learnings from recent evaluations of our work and how we go about developing new programmes.

Careers Policy: Will focus on the Academy’s work on Biomedical & health careers including our recent report on long-term sustainability of health research.
