ARMA PGR SIG Drop-In Session: UKRI’s current activities in response to the New Deal for Postgraduate Research

PGR SIG Session with UKRI – 6th November 10-11.30am
Ewan Nicholas from UKRI will be joining us to discuss UKRI’s current activities in response to the New Deal for Postgraduate Research. The session provides a great opportunity to hear more about these activities and provide feedback to help inform this work moving forward. The session will focus on:
- Overview of New Deal for Postgraduate Research, one year on since UKRI published its response to the call for input
- UKRI activity on reviewing training grant terms and conditions with a specific focus on student support (including legal aspects, leave, mode of study, support for disabled students)
- UKRI review of stipends.
Whilst not all organisations have training grants – the elements for discussion are specifically about broader student support. Many of us mirror UKRI approaches in our own institutional investments so this will be of wider relevance to all organisations and UKRI are keen to understand what works for wider PGR providers too
