Developing Post Award Structures and Processes (Online)

Categories ,

Event Details

The Post Award arena is variable with every institution’s structures and resources unique to themselves meaning post award processes, structures and set ups can differ at every institution. With seemingly increasing requirements from funders, institutions and academic researchers, as well as the current difficult HE environment,  ensuring that you are able to meet the demands of supporting research grants can be challenging.

Outcomes:

In this webinar, our panel will share post award processes, from different perspectives across their different institutions. They will describe how post award research support is structured and delivered, explain how they were able to develop these and the journey involved. The Panel will provide insight into the benefits and challenges of the processes that they have developed and how they have bedded in.

Ushma Gudka will show how her institution initially introduced a post-award system for supporting externally funded grants and more recently how it has moved to a more risk-based approach to setting up and reviewing grants.

Nicola Crawley will discuss the post award structure at her Institution, including focusing on challenges and changes that have been made to improve the grants process, how they provide support to their researchers, and how they streamlined processes and policies for greater efficiencies.

Alice Caryer’s presentation will outline the process of establishing a post-award system from the ground up with very limited resources. She will share how her institution implemented practical, low-cost solutions, such as process automation, and worked closely with central departments and faculty to provide essential support.

Participants will then have the opportunity to explore these processes with the speakers and also consider how they might be able to apply some of what they have learned.

Audience:

Whether you are looking to revisit your post award processes with a strategic end to end review or you want to improve the way you and/or your team does things, participants will gain an insight into the change process, factors that support success and the challenges that they may face.

(Please note that we will not be going into detail about the information systems that we use but we will describe these as part of the tools we use to support post award in our settings)
