Event Details
The ARMA Open Research SIG will host two in-person events with a focus on embedding open research practices in research excellence and innovation strategies. They will include a combination of presentations and interactive workshopping, with the intention of allowing participants to better understand how others have approached this and explore how such embedding might take place within the context of their own institution. Both events will largely follow the same programme, so there is no need to attend both.
Dates, times and locations
- Session 1: 1–4pm, Wednesday 4 March 2026, Aston University (Birmingham)
- Session 2: 1–4pm, Wednesday 11 March 2026, Durham University.
Cost
- There is no cost to attend.
- Please note that while refreshments will be provided, lunch will not. This is to keep costs down and to allow for two events to be held.
Who should attend
- Any ARMA member is eligible to attend, irrespective of whether they are a member of the OR SIG.
- ARMA members from institutions who do not already have established open research position statements/strategies/delivery plans, but who want to acquire knowledge to begin developing these in their institutions are encouraged to attend. Likewise, those who have experience of developing and implementing such measures and are happy to share their experiences would also be very welcome.
Are there any restrictions?
- This event is only open to ARMA members.
- We have a limited capacity of 25 participants per event. The request is that only one representative per institution attends one of the sessions. This is to allow as many institutions as possible to attend the sessions. Attendees are encouraged to share the experience and learning from the sessions with relevant colleagues within their institution.
- Where possible, materials shared during the session will be made available to attendees post-event for this purpose.
