Joint UKRI and ARMA RD SIG workshops on demand management and EDI data collection

Co-organised by UKRI Interdisciplinary Responsive Mode team and ARMA Research Development (RD) SIG Champions

Dates:

11 October 2024; 10:30-12:00

On ZOOM.

UKRI has recently implemented institutional caps on the popular UKRI cross research council responsive mode pilot scheme to manage the number of applications submitted. UKRI wishes to ensure organisations are employing good practices in identifying and prioritising applications to this scheme in line with the Future Leaders Fellowship scheme. As part of the selection process for submissions, lead organisations must provide a statement describing the inclusive process they used to identify and select the applications for submission and must also provide anonymised information on the number of prospective applicants including EDI data.

To provide direct dialogue between the UKRI team and the research management community, and for sharing good practices, the UKRI and ARMA RD SIG have co-developed two workshops to engage research managers to discuss and address some of the concerns raised by the research organisations about the collection and submission of this data. These workshops will highlight:

  • key outputs from a previous special interest session on Implementing EDI Principles in Demand Management Processes,
  • a short presentation from UKRI on why the data is being collected and how it will be used,
  • case studies of different approaches to CRCRM demand management and EDI data collection
  • Q&A session and breakout sessions to discuss best practices for collecting the data.

The two workshops, on 14:00-15:30 of 10th Oct and 10:30-12:00 of 11th Oct, have the same format and are aimed to allow most institutions to attend.

Please note this workshop is targeted at research managers responsible for submitting the Inclusive selection statement and data form. Spaces are limited. The workshops will be held under the Chatham House Rule and will not be recorded. However, a meeting summary and outputs in the form of Padlets will be shared with the community.

Academics interested in applying for funding through the CRCRM scheme should attend one of the specific scheme webinars organised by UKRI on either the 5th September or the 11th September.
