Event Details
This ARMA Technical Workshop is an introduction to REF and is designed for those interested in learning more about the Research Excellence Framework (REF). It is intended for those who have just taken on a REF-related role or for those for whom REF is not a core element of their role, but where some support is required. The two speakers have significant experience from successfully managing REF submissions across a number of institutions, as well as insight of the process from a Research England perspective.
This workshop does not assume prior knowledge of the REF and will seek to explain what is required, why it matters and how the REF fits within the wider dual support system.
The focus of the day will be on the broader context of why we have the REF and its implications for institutional funding, as well as the elements of an institutional submission. It will also include practical sessions which allow attendees to understand how they can make a contribution to their own institutional submission.
The workshop provides a great opportunity to network with colleagues, consider key challenges and opportunities we face with regards to the REF and share best practice with peers.
