Research development managers are accustomed to running internal selection processes when funders restrict the number of bids a university can submit. However, we are increasingly aware of the need to implement the EDI principles in the process. Many of us are developing our own practices in our institutions without knowing what other colleagues are doing in their institutions.
In this Research development (RD) SIG drop-in session, we will discuss in small groups ways to integrate EDI principles in three key parts of the demand management process, which are Candidate-focused communication and timelines, Panel selection and guidance, and EDI data collection and monitoring. Participants will work in small groups to discuss best practices and challenges in each of the three areas. The output of the drop-in session will be a collection of practical examples of implementing EDI principles in demand management.
Please come along and share and discuss your wonderful work with likeminded peers! No preparation needed. The outputs will be shared with the participants and saved as the RD SIG resources.
