With continuous developments in Open Science policies as well as in data protection legislation (e.g. GDPR), Higher Education Institutions must ensure their research data is gathered, managed, disseminated and preserved appropriately and lawfully. This involves a wide range of behaviours and systems, which, combined, lead not only to policy compliance but also to HEIs being able to raise their profile as more credible and impactful research institutions.
This webinar will introduce the key aspects of Research Data Management (RDM) and dissemination, including funders’ requirements and expectations, institutional policies, costing and sources to identify good practice. The webinar will focus on the implications of RDM for research managers, equipping you with the knowledge needed to support and advise researchers effectively in your day-to-day role.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand what funders require from institutions when research data is gathered, managed, disseminated and preserved
- Identify a range of RDM activities and processes
- Evaluate local RDM provision and identify areas for improvement
- Locate resources to find out more about relevant aspects of RDM
This webinar will be held on a GoToMeeting. Details to access the meeting will be shared up to a week before the webinar takes place. We will record our webinar to use a future material for ARMA.
