Event Details
There is currently uncertainty in the Public Engagement and Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) sectors about future sources of funding with key funders deciding on where their future priorities lie.
Whilst this is happening, many Public Engagement & PPI colleagues face a period of even more precarity due to fixed term contracts, and the reliance many of their posts have on external funding.
ARMA is offering the opportunity for Public Engagement & PPI colleagues to attend an online session to discuss these issues. This session is for all Public Engagement & PPI colleagues within the higher education sector. We are keen to hear from as many people as possible and so will be taking steps to gather input in advance of the meeting. We will also be providing opportunities during the meeting for those present to highlight which of the concerns raised are the most pressing. We will seek to ensure that everyone is able to share their views in a way they feel comfortable.
As a result of the discussion, we hope to gain a sector-wide perspective and be able to support Public Engagement & PPI colleagues in highlighting the issues raised to key stakeholders.
The discussion will be facilitated by Charlotte Thorley who is a freelance public engagement and involvement consultant. Charlotte works with researchers, PEPs, funders and charities to improve their outcomes through inclusive practice.
