
Ann joined the University of Sheffield in 2008 as a Training & Development Officer on a Roberts funded project for early career researchers. She subsequently moved into research support and has held three roles in this area.
From 2009-2012 Ann was based in the Central Research & Innovation Services team and provided pre-award support to academics in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. During the time she also led the University of Sheffield’s submission for the European Commission HR Excellence in Research award.
In 2012 Ann moved into a School based management role in the Department of Geography where she was responsible for all aspects of the research grant capture and management, and general department finances.
From 2014 – 2019, Ann had the role of Research Support Manager, School of Law. As Research Support Manager she has responsibility for every aspect of the research lifecycle within the School, including grant capture, project budgets, post award management, ethics approval, REF planning and open access.
Ann started her current role as Departmental Manager, Sheffield Methods Institute & Social Research Institutes in 2019.
