
Cristina has over 15 years of experience as a Research Manager and Administrator. She has played a crucial role in developing PIC, the Portuguese association for Professionals at the Interface of Science. Currently, she leads the research management at the MagIC research center at NOVA IMS in Portugal. Her expertise spans science policy, post-award management, and science communication, with the past 10 years focused on funding advisory and supporting researchers in the ideation and submission of research proposals.
Cristina was a partner in the EU foRMAtion project, where she led the development of RMA training modules for undergraduate students. She is also involved in the new EU-funded RM ROADMAP project, developing a roadmap for the Research Management profession across Europe. Additionally, she serves as Co-PI of the RAAAP-3 project and vice-chair of the BESTPRAC – EARMA Thematic Group. Cristina is also an author in The Emerald Handbook of Research Management and Administration around the World.
