Jen is an Associate Director at the Natural Research Environment Council where she provides strategic oversight of NERC’s investment portfolios in Discovery and Highlight Science and Talent and Skills.

Prior to joining NERC in March 2020 Jen was Deputy Director of Operations (Research and Knowledge Transfer) at the University of Birmingham where she held responsibility for research development, post-graduate training, stakeholder engagement and knowledge exchange. Jen has a PhD in molecular microbiology and has previously held positions in Research and Enterprise Development at the University of Bristol and as an Innovation Manager at BBSRC.
