Dr. Lata Narayanaswamy is Associate Professor in the Politics of Global Development, School of Politics and International Studies (POLIS), University of Leeds, UK. Since 2001, as a research practitioner, consultant and now an academic she has worked at the nexus between development theory and practice. Her research critically reflects on gendered/intersectional and post/decolonial dynamics of development knowledge and its perceived contribution to addressing global development challenges. Lata is currently involved in applied, interdisciplinary research related to gender and climate change, water security and decolonising development, as well as policy-oriented training, facilitation and awareness-raising around gender, colonialism, anti-racism and structural inequality, working with a range of (I)NGOs, donors and the UK Parliament. She is on the Advisory Board of the Gender and Development Journal and is a Trustee for the Gender and Development Network, UK (GADN), with oversight of their work on racism and decolonisation.
