UKRI’s mission is to advance knowledge, improve lives and drive growth. As Programme Director for Trusted Research and Innovation (TR&I), Mark provides senior strategic leadership for UKRI on research and innovation security.

Before taking up this role, Mark held several EPSRC Head of Theme roles including for Digital Security & Resilience, Digital Twinning, Business Engagement, and Robotics and Autonomous Systems, and was an EPSRC TR&I Lead.

Prior to joining UKRI, Mark was a senior manager in the fire and rescue service. He has significant experience of managing risks and leading across organisational boundaries and in collaborative and partnership settings.
