Sam Hawkins (he/him) is Head of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (Staff) at Anglia Ruskin University. Sam’s role involves leading activity to advance inclusivity and improve the sense of belonging. Sam utilises organisation development principles in his work and takes a multifaceted approach to identifying opportunities, developing evidence-based interventions, and evaluating impact to improve colleague’s experience.

Sam’s EDI work has been featured in Sky Sports, Wonkhe, and local papers and was also shortlisted for a national equality award. Bringing together his expertise across student and staff EDI, Sam now supports his colleagues to design and deliver sector-leading initiatives to advance inclusivity and have real world impact.
