Sue joined the Heseltine Institute in 2019 having undertaken senior leadership roles in the Liverpool City Region and Greater Manchester. She brings considerable experience of public sector policy and practice having led high impact projects focused on skills, employment and economic development in the Liverpool City Region. Recent examples include negotiating the skills aspects of Liverpool City Region’s Devolution Deal and overseeing the devolution of the £51m Adult Education Budget to the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority from national government. Previously, Sue was Director of Policy for Knowsley Council where she was responsible for policy, intelligence, business transformation and performance management functions.
