ARMA and UUK are looking for examples of bureaucracy reduction in research

Government is currently driving forward with activity to reduce unnecessary research bureaucracy in the UK. ARMA colleagues have been supporting DSIT through the work being conducted by the Bureaucracy Reduction and Research Innovation Network (BRRIN).

The current BRINN subdivisions are:

  • Funding assurance requirements
  • Reporting the impact of research
  • Digital tools and databases used in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
  • Funding applications and assessment

Working with UUK, ARMA is keen to highlight current activity being undertaken by members to reduce bureaucracy in these areas. If your organisation has made changes that have resulted in improved efficiency, then please get in touch by completing this form: https://forms.office.com/e/ULJNNCEXRt

If you have multiple initiatives that you would like to submit, then please use a separate form for each one.

ARMA and UUK will review the submissions with a view to exploring ways of sharing key learnings with the wider research community in the UK. This is a great opportunity to highlight the work your institution has been doing. There may also be the possibility of collating examples into a publication to share with Government and the broader HE sector.

An initial review of submissions will be made in mid-May.
