ARMA seeks new Deputy Chair and Treasurer – extended closing date, now Monday 11 May

ARMA is seeking applicants for two senior Board positions – Deputy Chair and Treasurer, and, recognising that there is a lot going on at present, we have extended the deadline for Expressions of Interest for these posts until 9am on Monday 11 May.

These roles offer a fantastic career development opportunity for those with the requisite skills and experience to contribute to the strategic direction of an ambitious and forward-looking membership association, providing an excellent pathway for future non-executive director roles.

Along with the Chair, these two roles perform key functions essential to the good governance, efficiency, transparency, accountability and financial health of the Association. These roles act for and on behalf of the membership, ensuring that membership fees are managed legally, responsibly, efficiently and effectively to deliver the best possible range of benefits and services.

The Deputy Chair leads ARMA’s Finance & Governance Committee. Both roles will work closely with, and be supported by members of ARMA’s Executive Team.  The Treasurer will oversee the relationship with ARMA’s accountants, currently Chater Allen.

For both roles, the term of appointment is three years in post. In addition, however, the successful candidates, as Deputy Chair- Elect and Treasurer-Elect, will be expected to attend Board, Finance & Governance and other meetings as appropriate for one year preceding appointment (1st August 2021), at which point they will become Directors of the Association. In addition, as immediate past Deputy Chair and Treasurer, they will be expected to continue to attend for one year after their term has finished, making these appointments in effect for five years. They are therefore not renewable.

These roles are specialist in nature and we require applicants to provide either evidence of holding similar roles in other similar types of organisation or significant knowledge of ARMA’s recent governance and finance operations. Director training and mentoring will be provided during the induction year.

The closing date for applications for these roles is now Monday 11th May, 9am.

If you would like to discuss aspects of either role before applying, please email Hamish.macandrew@arma.ac.uk to set up an informal telephone call.
