ARMA Vacancy: Training & Development Working Group

We have a space on our Training & Development Working Group, which we’re seeking to fill! Do you have an interest in learning and development, and would you like to help shape ARMA’s very popular Training & Development Programme?

About the Working Group

The T&D Working Group was established by ARMA’s Professional Development Committee to oversee, plan, deliver and quality-assure ARMA’s very popular and comprehensive Training & Development Programme. In addition to creating a rolling programme of webinars, workshops and recorded material, the Working Group also makes recommendations for the programme’s improvement and development, ensuring that the programme is of the moment. The T&D Working Group is currently led by ARMA Director, Lorna Wilson, and the Working Group reports to the Professional Development Committee.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for members who are passionate about training and development, and who can see the value that a learning and development programme can bring to our professional community. Your skills may include webinar or workshop delivery, training needs analysis or programme design. You are likely to have some experience of research management and administration, and be able to spot ‘hot topics’ that might translate into compelling workshops.

Please note that these criteria are indicative. If they do not fit your ‘career journey’ but you still know you have a lot to offer, we’d still love to hear from you.

What we’re asking of you

There are generally 4 meetings of T&D Working Group per year. These generally run for 90 – 120 minutes and are held online. Preparing for these meetings tend to require 2-3 hours per meeting, but Working Group members are also likely to be invited to take on other projects, including potentially leading and/or presenting some webinars and workshops, identifying and scoping new events or analysing feedback. This might require a further 1-3 days each quarter.

These posts are unpaid, but in the event that any travel or overnight accommodation is required, all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with ARMA’s Expenses policy.
