EDIS Symposium 2023: Inclusive Leadership

ARMA were pleased to able to attend the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in Science and Health (EDIS) Symposium this week. EDIS are a coalition of organisations tackling EDI issues in the science and health research sector. We are proud to be a member of EDIS and for this event we created and shared a poster to showcase our EDI work including our inclusive recruitment policy.

The 2023 Symposium brought together researchers and professionals from across the science and health research sector on the theme of inclusive leadership. A range of inspiring speakers and delegates shared exciting and emerging practice on designing, implementing, and rewarding inclusive leadership at all levels.

The Symposium also featured discussions on topics such as grassroots community organising in STEM, inclusive recruitment policies, and leading in equitable research practices.

The event highlighted many ways that organisers can reduce barriers to attending and contributing at conferences and events, helping make these key learning opportunities inclusive.
