Help us respond to the OA Consultation!

ARMA is going to submit a response to UKRI’s Open Access consultation (https://www.ukri.org/funding/information-for-award-holders/open-access/open-access-review/)  but it needs to be representative of all its membership, so we need your involvement!

UKRI is reviewing its open access policies for peer-reviewed research articles and academic books that result from research it supports.

The UKRI Open Access Review is an opportunity to align policies across UKRI’s councils, including the seven Research Councils, Research England and Innovate UK. UKRI is working with the UK Higher Education Funding Bodies, to help inform the open access policy for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise after REF 2021.

UKRI is seeking views on its proposed open access policy and related considerations via a consultation, which closes at noon on 29 May 2020.

We probably won’t be replying to all the Consultation Questions, just those where RMAs’ voices are distinctive and where we believe we can influence change.

Join the ARMA OA Conversation!

To start the process, ARMA OA SIG Champion Valerie McCutcheon and COO Hamish Macandrew are going to be hosting a zoom call on Wednesday 29th April, 10.00 – 11.30. If you would like to contribute your views and thoughts, please join us. Valerie will chair the meeting, focussing on specific questions where we feel there may be ‘an ARMA view’, but this is a great opportunity for you to have your say on any points related to OA and help shape the ARMA response.

If you are able to join us for the conversation, please register your place here (https://arma.ac.uk/product/open-access-online-consultation/) , and we will send you details of how to join the call in due course. Please note that this is not a webinar and all respondents should come prepared to share their views and discuss the questions in the Consultation Paper.

Do join us and help us make the ARMA OA response a distinctive one!
