After a 3-year break, ARMA is delighted to launch the pilot for our new-look Mentoring Scheme in association with our partners at Emerald Publishing. Since the closure of the scheme in 2015, requests from our members to bring the scheme back have come in time and time again, so we’ve made sure it was one of our strategic priorities for 2018/19!
Initially open to only 10 sets of mentors and mentees, the pilot will give us the opportunity to trial some improvements, including additional support in the form of a workshop for our participants. After our first sets of mentors and mentees are settled and we’re satisfied we’ve got the formula right, we’ll then relaunch the programme to all members in Autumn 2019.
How does the scheme work?
ARMA’s mentoring scheme works as a matching service for mentors and mentees. Those interested in being either a Mentor or Mentee will be invited to complete online application forms, and a subset of ARMA’s Professional Development Committee then will look to create matches, based on particular areas of interest, development needs, location and particular circumstances, and learning styles. More details, including application forms, will be available shortly.
Those selected will be invited to our Mentoring Induction Day in March, where mentors and mentees will be introduced to each other and have the opportunity of discussing their needs and requirements as well as receive hints and tips on how to get the most out of a mentoring relationship.
