New members sought for Member Engagement Committee

We have a number of vacancies on our Member Engagement Committee (MEC). You are not required to be a member at the time of application but should become one prior to taking up the post.

MEC ensures that the needs and expectations of members and potential members are clearly identified and understood, so that ARMA will be better placed to deliver an appropriate service to members and enhance member experience. The committee is currently chaired by ARMA Director, Grace McConnell.

MEC members can each serve a three-year term (with an option to renew for a second term). The committee meets four times per year (once in-person and others via teleconference), approximately one month in advance of each ARMA Board meeting, so that recommendations can be discussed and developed in good time.

To view the MEC Terms of Reference, please click here.

We are particularly interested in hearing from all members of the UK research professional community including those working in universities, research institutes, independent research organisations, public sector research establishments, research funders, NHS Trusts, Catapult centres and charitable organisations, including Trusts and Foundations. The vacancies are open to all career stages and appropriate training, mentoring and support will be provided for all successful applicants.

To express interest in this opportunity, please send an email to Amaka Nwagbara amaka.nwagbara@arma.ac.uk with the subject line ‘MEC vacancies’, a statement (no more than 400 words) summarising why you would like to join the committee and outlining the ideas, skills and experience you believe you can bring to it.

We will then review all the expressions of interest against candidates fit to the role profile and in line with our inclusive recruitment process.

If you would like to ask any questions about this opportunity, the selection process, or to discuss the role in more detail, please contact amaka.nwagbara@arma.ac.uk for a confidential chat.

The closing date for expressions of interest has been extended to 5pm on Wednesday 26 June 2024.
