Our REF consultation response

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As you’ll be aware, REF preparations are gearing up and there are now two guidance documents available for comments: the draft guidance on submissions and the consultation on panel criteria and working methods. As the membership organisation for research management in the UK, we are preparing a response. But we need your views! We want to make sure you – our members – are represented.

There are three ways to provide input:

1. Talk to the representative from your institution that will be attending our REF Research Policy Forum event next week. This is likely to be your REF manager, or equivalent. They can then share your views with us.
2. Send your comments to enquiries@arma.ac.uk by Wednesday 10 October.
3. Send comments via your SIG. We’re working with the SIG champions to prepare the response.

We’ve attached the summary document of consultation questions, so please make sure in your response that you clearly identify the question you’re commenting on. And remember, the ARMA response is seeking to be representative of the sector as a whole, reflecting the interests of research managers across the UK, so your comments should reflect general concerns, rather than institution-specific ones.
