To bring together colleagues across the UK who lead research divisions to network, share good practice and discuss common challenges facing the community.
This event is aimed at those who have responsibility for leading research offices across the UK.
Members and non-members are welcome.

Mehwaesh Islam , Head of Research Policy, Universities UK. Mehwaesh will provide an update on the challenges facing the sector, in particular research management, the expectations from government around HE reform, including UUK’s current engagement with government departments, as well as their work on sector transformation and efficiency. |

Lorna Wilson, Chair of ARMA and Director of Research Development and Operations, Managing Director of Research and Innovation Services, Durham University. An update on work that ARMA is supporting DSIT with, and an opportunity to provide feedback. Lorna will also provide an update on our work with HEECA. |

| Use of AI in support of researchers and research management
Peter McGinty, Research Grant Writing Specialist, University of Glasgow. How are institutions making use of AI for research and its management. Anna will describe developments in this area and seek inputs from attendees on their experiences. |

| Financial sustainability of research
Dr Bryony Butland, Director of Research and Innovation, Queen Mary University London and Alistair Taylor, Head of Policy – Impact, Research and Innovation Resilience, UKRI. Bryony will be presenting the work of ARMA’s Task and Finish Group on Financial Sustainability of Research. She will provide insights into the ARMA survey on financial sustainability of research and what this might mean going forward. Alistair Taylor is part of the UKRI Strategy unit leading on financial sustainability and will be briefly speaking about their work in this area. |
