Event Details
It has now been over two years since UKRI removed ‘Pathways to Impact’ statements from bid application. In this session, we ask the following:
- Where does impact go?
- What do bids look like now?
- What opportunities does this create for thinking about impact differently?
- And how do we support researchers to embed impact effectively into the case for support?
This workshop is being run to discuss the new UKRI guidance on how to embed impact in UKRI and other bids.
We will look closely at a current call and identify key phrases that help us assess the importance of impact to the call and a strategy for presenting a project’s impact. In the absence of the ‘Pathways to Impact’ section, we will consider where impact needs to go in the application, what proportion of the total space needs to be devoted to impact, and how best to build impact into the project lifecycle.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to…
- Outline the impact requirements for UKRI bids
- Provide support to researchers in the bid preparation stage
- Determine the best strategy for presenting impact in response to different UKRI calls
- Map internal impact stakeholders for bid preparation and building impact culture
Who should come?
Research Administrators and Managers responsible for supporting bid development as well as those with a more general interest in building impact into project plans. This session will be interactive, and the session leaders would be happy to build in discussion of relevance to delegates.
