Event Details
This one day event builds on learning and good practice within the sector around research data management, with a focus on supporting academics and researchers. The day will provide an opportunity to share experience and expertise around how to establish a research data management service, how to provide support for researchers in different disciplines and how to manage the day to day challenges and issues of research data management.
By the end of the workshop participants will:
- Understand the context in which Universities seek to provide support to research data management
- Have considered a case study of how to establish a research data management service
- Have considered how support needs may differ across academic disciplines
- Have had the opportunity to discuss day to day challenges and issues in research data management, with other delegates and with the speakers
- Be aware of different approaches being taken by different organisations and have had the opportunity to discuss these and share information with colleagues from across the sector
- Be aware of the latest JISC projects and developments related to research data management
- Have reflected on how they would apply their learning within their institution/context
Target Audience
This one day event is aimed at research managers from university schools, faculties, research centres / institutes, libraries and central research offices, who have an interest in or responsibility for supporting researchers and academics with research data management. In particular the event will be relevant to anyone developing a new research data management service or considering how to improve engagement with research data management requirements across their organisation.
