Strengthening ARMA’s Digital Foundations: IT Project Update

Earlier this year, we shared our plans to invest in ARMA’s IT systems to better support our members and create a stronger digital experience across everything we do. We’re pleased to share that this work is now well underway and progressing well.

Following an intensive procurement process we contracted ARKOM to support us with this work. ARKOM is a specialist at designing and building connected membership platforms that bring together website, CRM, and member portals into one joined-up system.

Since the start of the year, they have been carrying out a detailed discovery phase with the ARMA executive office team.

This has involved a series of in-depth sessions to understand how our current systems operate, where there are challenges and what we need for the future.

The discovery work has focused on a range of key areas, including:

  • Membership data and management
  • Event booking and delivery
  • Qualifications, registration and learning platform integration
  • Finance systems and our future approach to accounting
  • Enquiry handling and member support
  • Stakeholder and organisational data
  • Marketing activity and surveys

This phase is critical in ensuring that any future system is designed around the needs of our members and the way ARMA works.

What happens next?

ARKOM will conduct more discovery work to better understand our website and membership portal. They will then develop a clear roadmap for the project that will set out:

  • The recommended approach for upgrading and integrating our systems
  • The proposed phases of delivery
  • Expected timelines and key milestones.

This work is being supported by ARMA’s Board and IT Oversight Group, ensuring we have the right governance, clarity, and safeguards in place as we move into the next phase.

What this means for members

This investment is about making it easier to engage with ARMA, wherever and however you interact with us. Over time, you can expect:

  • A seamless journey across membership, events and qualifications
  • A more intuitive website and member portal
  • A more personalised experience, with your information and activity connected in one place

We will continue to keep you updated as the project moves into delivery and we look forward to sharing more detail on timelines and improvements in the coming months.
