ARMA seeks volunteers for new Member Recruitment Working Group – closing date for submissions now Monday 26 April

We will shortly be establishing a new Recruitment Working Group, with the aim of expanding our membership across a broader range of HEIs.

Because the remit of this group is to reach out to new members, and very possibly new communities, you do not have to be an existing ARMA member in order to express an interest in joining it.

All are invited to apply.  A link to the draft Terms of Reference can be found below.

HEI Recruitment Working Group

The HEI Recruitment Working Group has been established to put forward ideas and recommendations to increase the representation of our membership across a broader spectrum of UK universities and research institutes. While some ARMA members can be found in most HEIs, our coverage is by no means comprehensive, and we wish to find out how we could improve our offer and make it more relevant to a wider range of institutions.

There are 6 posts available. We do not require you to be a member of ARMA.

We are looking for members who may have a marketing background, possibly with membership association experience; who can adopt a creative and innovative approach to developing ARMA’s membership; who are willing to play an active role not just in conceptualising ideas but in implementing solutions.

Further details of the scope of the Working Group, time requirement etc, can be found here

ARMA HEI Recruitment Working Group – Terms of Reference

Why join an ARMA Working Group?

  • Apply your skills, experience and creativity to new challenges.
  • Further develop your network.
  • Increase your visibility and raise your personal and professional profile.

Further details

In addition to the above requirements, applicants should also have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a research funder/ administration/management role and a good awareness of ARMA.

Celebrating and promoting a culture of inclusivity, ARMA is committed to embedding equitable practice within our Board, Committees and Working Groups and ensuring our governance is fully representative of our membership.

These posts are unpaid, and all meetings are likely to be via Teams.

How to apply

If you are interested in applying to join the Working Group, please send Hamish Macandrew, Chief Operating Officer, a covering email and brief CV by 5pm on Monday 26th April,  summarising why you would like to join it. Please outline the ideas, skills and experience you believe you can bring to the role. We will then review the expressions of interest we have received before responding to candidates.
