DORA & CoARA – where have ten years of responsible research assessment brought us?

Dr Elizabeth (Lizzie) Gadd is Head of Research Culture & Assessment at Loughborough University. She chairs the International Network Of Research Management Societies (INORMS) Research Evaluation Group and is a Vice Chair of the Coalition on Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA). She co-authored the UKRI-commissioned report, 'Harnessing the Metric Tide: Indicators, Infrastructures & Priorities for UK Research Assessment' and was the recipient of the 2020 INORMS Award for Excellence in Research Management and Leadership.

Grace Murkett is a Research Policy Officer at the University of Strathclyde, working on research integrity, research culture and responsible research assessment. She co-champions the ARMA Research Evaluation SIG and co-leads the UK CoARA National Chapter alongside colleagues from Strathclyde, Loughborough and Swansea Universities.

Mareike Wehner is the Senior Outputs Development Manager at the University of Liverpool. Her team focuses on university-wide initiatives to maximise the quality and visibility of research outputs, with the goal to support researchers and work towards strategic goals. Previously, she worked in the academic publishing sector and responsible metrics education.

Helen Young is Associate Director of Research Excellence at the University of Bristol (formerly Head of Research Policy and Information at the University of Strathclyde). She co-champions the ARMA REF SIG and played a key role in establishing the UK National Chapter of CoARA prior to moving institution.
