The impact of rights retention policies on university publishing

The University of Edinburgh adopted a Rights Retention Strategy (RRS) in 2022, which has increased the amount of openly licensed research articles, ensured compliance with funder policies, reduced administrative burden, and has also positioned the University favourably for its REF2029 submission.
