The role of research managers in research output development

Dr. Natalie Wallis (she/her) – n.j.wallis@liverpool.ac.uk Natalie is the Outputs Development Manager and an essential part of the Outputs Development team, working to develop Liverpool’s output strategy. Natalie has a scientific background in genetics and is also a part-time post-doc at the University of Cambridge. She has an interest in the use of AI in research management.

Mareike Wehner (she/her) – m.wehner@liverpool.ac.uk Mareike is the Senior Outputs Development Manager at the University of Liverpool, who previously worked in the library team. She has a robust background in academic publishing with a special interest in the arts and humanities. Mareike also has expertise in research metrics and how to make your research discoverable.

Dr. Jane Rees (she/her) – janerees@liverpool.ac.uk Jane is Head of Strategic Research Initiatives at the University of Liverpool. She co-leads the Research and Partnerships team, developing strategic research support, training, and peer review across the full lifecycle of research and output development, from concept to submission. She is a former Senior Biology Editor at Nature and is a biologist by training.
