As a growing membership organisation, we recognise the vital importance of two-way communication with our members, providing value to individuals, and institutions, and acting as an outlet for members to share their views. To show our members that we are committed to our communications, we’re promising to commit to the following:
- We will endeavour to derive value-adding member content from everything we do, and make this available to members in appropriate forms.
- We will use a range of means to understand the views of our members, including a regular membership survey, and focus groups.
- We will engage with our members, SIGs, and key external stakeholders to provide valuable content as part of ARMA membership.
- We will maximise the value members get from our key communication channels:
- The public-facing website
- The members-only website, and SIG Discussion Board functionality
- Twitter, and other social media
- Email communications
- Protagonist and other print media
- We will look to address information needs, and engagement / comms opportunities connected with key membership groups and stakeholders:
- Non-members in the RMA profession (i.e. who may consider membership)
- Members new to the profession
- Expert / experienced members
- Regional groups of members
- Key external stakeholders (esp. profile raising of ARMA)
- We will seek to ensure our communications are effective, timely, and coordinated. A communications schedule will be overseen by the ARMA Board.
- Every area of ARMA’s activities needs to be aware of the importance of making value-add content available to members. Annual Action plans will be overseen by the Board as part of ARMA’s business cycle.
