This initial seminar will explore all dimensions of partnership working in Place and using an introductory consideration of Policy as an overarching framework. The Series also considers how Place is conceptualised across different policy levels, from the national to the local levels.

The following areas are of interest to Managers:

• The Place Agenda is becoming more salient in Government Strategy. As we move from the Industrial Strategy to Build Back Better, the Place Agenda is moving towards an environment of resilience and recovery. This is being echoed across other strategies and planning across the regionals and devolved administrations.
• Central to this is the Levelling Up White Paper, which sets out Government thinking on Place. Levelling Up will play a large part in the Seminar and in the wider series, which will be of interest to managers and highly relevant to the work that they do.
• Definitions of Place and understanding the meaning of Place for various HEIs.
• Discussion of what works best in partnership working, especially on change/improvement, collaboration and partnership, effective process, and the importance and scope of enhanced partnership.
• Discussion of the role of HEIs and Place as important aspects in and how they function locally, in engagement with community and other stakeholders, and in participating in sowing the seeds of recovery.
