Strategic Enablers of Financially Sustainable Research – Free ARMA Workshops 

ARMA is delivering a series of free, in-person workshops, funded by Research England, to explore the strategic enablers of financially sustainable research across England. These sessions respond to sector-wide concerns about financial pressures on UK HEIs and build on ARMA’s evidence gathering through surveys, discussion forums and engagement with members and funders. 

Bringing together research managers, administrators, and strategic leaders, the workshops will examine institutional vulnerabilities, infrastructure and workload pressures, and the evolving role of research support teams. Participants will share good practice, identify barriers and enablers, and contribute to a growing national evidence base on research sustainability. Attendees will also strengthen skills in financial fluency, strategic communication, data and systems use, and funder engagement, with insights shaping ARMA’s future training resources.
