Overview
ARMA invites proposals from experienced training providers to design and deliver a “Train the Trainer” programme in 2025/26. This programme will aim to equip ARMA trainers with the skills, confidence, and inclusive practices needed to deliver high-quality learning experiences across our professional development and qualifications portfolio.
Background
ARMA currently delivers approximately 25 online and face to face workshops per year to over 600 participants. In addition to this we also deliver a qualifications programme, including up to 12 live unit specific sessions to a cohort of 60 students per year. The majority of these events are currently delivered online to a maximum of 30 participants per session. ARMA trainers are made up of professional volunteers from the research sector who have subject matter expertise and a varying degree of training experience.
Scope of Work
The successful provider will:
- Design and deliver a highly interactive modular online train the trainer programme
- Ensure content covers:
- Good practice in designing and delivering impactful training.
- Learning styles and models.
- Trainer self-awareness and reflective practice.
- Inclusive facilitation techniques and EDI principles (Cognitive inclusion and accessibility, ensuring aligned with ARMA strategy and values).
Secondary outcomes could include;
- Support peer to peer cohort-building among ARMA trainers.
Deliverables
- Programme design and session plans.
- Delivery of live online session(s).
- Pre-training questionnaire and analysis.
- Post-training; shareable materials to support continuing good practice.
Target Audience
ARMA trainers (professional volunteers), including those delivering training and qualifications units. Participants will have varied levels of training experience and subject expertise. We have c40 trainers who have not attended train the trainer training in the last two years and it is expected that between 16-20 of these will be available to attend this training.

Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be assessed on:
- Relevance and quality of proposed content.
- Experience in trainer development and inclusive learning.
- Value for money.
- Ability to tailor content to ARMA’s context and values.
