ARMA launches new Strategy at Annual General Meeting
At this morning’s Annual General Meeting of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators, Chair Jenni Stergiou launched the Association’s new Strategy for 2021-2024.
With a Mission focussing on professional development, strengthening the research management community and bolstering its advocacy role, the new Strategy comprises 3 strategic priorities and one corporate priority, and introduces 4 new overarching values.
ARMA’s strategic priorities centre on professional research management and community, advancing traditional ARMA core priorities to the next level and building on ARMA’s traditional strengths of professional development and connected community.
New for this Strategy is an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategic priority, which will build on and bring to life ARMA’s EDI Policy, launched last year.
ARMA’s corporate priority of Organisational effectiveness, governance and sustainability will be demonstrated by a Finance & Governance Review, launched earlier this week and taking place this autumn. This Review will test ARMA’s existing governance, operational and financial structure, and identify the best model to deliver the 2021-24 Strategy.
4 values feature in the new Strategy:
- Member focussed – keeping members at the heart of all that we do
- Inclusive – actively removing barriers to participation
- Collaborative – developing new partnerships and cherishing existing ones
- Professional – evidencing the highest standards of professional conduct
Jenni Stergiou, ARMA’s Chair, commented:
“In the last 16 months almost everything has changed. However the need for ARMA to provide a space for members to share, learn and develop has never been more evident. This new strategy comes at a crucial time and sets the roadmap for how ARMA will adapt over the next 3 years, to continue to support our members but also to raise their profile across the sector and ensure that their voices are represented in matters of national research policy”
