ARMA publishes new best practice framework and checklist to accompany recent policy review on Place

Following from the recently published policy review, ARMA today has published a new document Place: Partnership, Impact and Funding: A Framework for Best Practice including a handy Place funding checklist.

This resource began life as an output from the very successful Place Matters seminar series but has evolved with news from funders and input from relevant colleagues.

It is designed to complement ARMA’s recent review on Place, authored by Camelia Dijkstra and Chris Wyatt of the University of Wolverhampton.

The times we are living through are unique with regard to Place and it is this consideration that is of most interest to ARMA colleagues. This Policy Review summarises the existing policy discussion with regard to Place, engaging with themes such as the salience of the local, the importance of economic factors, and the role of Levelling Up, which all provide those policy hooks so important to the institutions for which we work. Related to this is the question of the changing character of Place. Factors like changing ways of working and new ways to conduct trade and commerce, especially in urban centres, affect both the structure and prosperity of the Places where our institutions are situated. This, in turn, affects the nature of engagement with local and regional interlocutors.
