Autumn – the season of mists, mellow fruitfulness and a blanket-wrapped CRM?

With the nights drawing in, our Qualifications Delivery Officer, Katherine Carlyon looks out her cosy blanket and describes the support that’s available for those contemplating joining us for this autumn’s Certificate in Research Management (CRM) cohort

Autumn is here at last after what feels like the longest spring-summer ever. As always, I’m sad to see the end of the long, light days, but at the same time excited for the new season ahead. Autumn has always felt like a season for starting projects and getting your teeth into something new.

If this also sounds like you, then you might be one of the students joining us this November for the Certificate in Research Management 2020 cohort. The eagle-eyed among you may wonder why we are starting a little later this year. That’s because we have recently held two successful induction periods for our new qualification assessors, who are now ready and raring to go. They will mark your assignments and provide invaluable feedback, supporting you towards a pass as you progress through the units. And if you are referred? Simply resubmit at the next assessment round! We offer three flexible rounds annually which are open access, allowing you to fit around other commitments.

But don’t worry, that’s still some way off, I’m just jumping ahead! We like to ease you in gently starting with a welcome induction in November. Here, we’ll introduce ourselves, guide you through the course content and layout for the year ahead and answer any burning questions that you might have. After that, it’s over to you – time to get your teeth into your CRM qualification!

While we encourage you to take a personal approach so that your study is a snug fit around your other commitments (and is a pleasure, rather than a chore!) don’t forget that there is always support on hand. You will get the best experience if you are able to attend the live unit webinars and interact with the course tutors and your peers, but don’t worry if not. We record all webinars so that you can watch them as often as you like at a later date. You can also follow up and link in with your peers and course tutors on our dedicated Microsoft Teams Foundation and Advanced groups at any time that suits you.
