Have an idea for ARMA Insights? We want to hear from you

The Editorial Working Group will be meeting face-to-face in October, making this the perfect opportunity to share your ideas and shape the content of upcoming articles in ARMA Insights magazine. Whether you’re interested in writing an article yourself or have suggestions for topics, we’d love to hear from you. 

We are open to all ideas, and, at the same time, keen to secure contributors for the following key themes: 

• RMA Spotlight – RMA Spotlight showcases the journeys of professionals working in research management, offering insights into their experiences, challenges and successes 

• Porous careers – A porous career refers to a career with flexible boundaries, allowing for movement between different roles or industries rather than following a fixed or rigid path 

• The spending review and allocation process – insights and implications for research management 

• English devolution white paper – potential impact on research and funding 

• Financial sustainability challenges – how sector-wide financial pressures are affecting the profession 

• AI in research – including the UK Government AI Action Plan, funders’ approach to AI, and how AI is being considered in proposals 

• Views from the REF frontline – thoughts on preparations for REF 2029 & views on how the exercise is developing 

• Effective organisational policy development and implementation 

• Views from non-university research settings. 

If you are interested in proposing new topics, contributing an article or writing about one of the topics above, please complete our short online submission form by Friday 3 October 2025. 

Your contributions help ensure ARMA Insights reflects the issues and interests that matter most to our community.
